Instructions for abstract submission

XXIII Meeting of the Federation of European Physiological Societies and XLI Meeting of the Spanish Society for Physiological Sciences

 

General information

All abstracts must be submitted and presented in English.

Abstract submissions are accepted only electronically by using the online submission system here: Abstract submission .

Please be aware that not more than two (2) abstracts can be presented by a registered participant.

Abstract submission form opens on February 29, 2024. The final date to submit your abstract will be May 27, 2024.

Accepted contributions will be presented as oral or poster presentations. Acceptance of the abstract is subject to acceptance by the Scientific Committee. This Committee has all rights to accept or reject the abstract if the rules and the required format are not considered by the submitting author.

All accepted abstracts will be published by Acta Physiologica, subject to the author registering as a paid delegate. Accepted abstracts will be published as submitted by the author, including any errors in grammar, spelling or scientific facts.

Fields of the abstract form

Presentation type
Authors will be asked for a preferred presentation type (oral or poster presentation). The presentation type will be confirmed by the Scientific Committee, and it might not be the one you would have preferred.

Theme
The abstract topic should be related to one of these themes:

      1. Cardiovascular physiology
      2. Neuroscience and neurophysiology
      3. Comparative and evolutionary physiology
      4. Endocrinology, metabolism and nutrition
      5. Reproductive physiology
      6. Environmental and exercise physiology
      7. Epithelial transport
      8. Gastrointestinal and liver physiology
      9. Muscle physiology
      10. Renal physiology
      11. Water and electrolyte homeostasis
      12. Respiratory physiology
      13. Teaching of physiology

Title
Your abstract title should be short and informative, must not exceed 200 characters and should be typed in Times New Roman 12. It must be written in ‘sentence case’ – capitalise only the first letter and any words or abbreviations that must be capitalised. Do not write your title in all capital letters.

Authors and Affiliations
Please fill in the author details as requested on the form.

Body of the abstract
The maximum length of the abstract is 250 words and should be typed in Times New Roman 10. The 250-word limit does not include the title or author details of the abstract; the limit is for the body of the abstract. The abstract should contain the following sections: Introduction/Objectives, Materials and methods, Results and Conclusion..

Keywords

Please add 1–3 keywords that describe your research, typed in Times New Roman 10. The keywords can be related to the topic, theoretical framework, or methodology of your research. Some examples: muscle physiology, hypoxia, gene expression, antioxidants, etc.

 

Terms and conditions

In submitting an abstract all presenters agree to the following terms and conditions:

  • I confirm that each author / presenter listed agree with the content of this abstract and has given permission to be listed as an author / presenter.
  • I have checked the accuracy of the information in this abstract.
  • I understand that should my abstract be accepted for presentation; I am required to complete a conference registration. I understand that my abstract will not be published until my registration and full payment has been received.
  • I hereby provide permission for the Organisers and Committee of the Congress to publish my abstract in the Congress.
  • I understand that my abstract will be published, if accepted, as submitted and that no editing to grammar or spelling will be undertaken by the Organizing Committee.

 

Submission process

  1. If you are log in for the first time, please click on the button “DATA BULLETIN” fill in the requested fields and wait to receive an email from the Technical Secretariat of the Congress with the password to access the platform (The mail is not sent immediately). Kindly notice that only abstracts submitted using the online system can be accepted.
  2. Once inside the platform click on "send communications". If no communication has been created, a blank section will appear. Click on "New communication" to create one.
  3. A box will appear on the screen with the fields to be filled in. Inside the box insert the completed communication form (Click here to download the communication form). Click on “Create” to finalize the process. You will see your communication in the section that was previously blank

Note:  Once your communication has been created, it cannot be modified by the author. if it is within the allowed time limit, please contact the technical secretariat to delete it so that you can upload a new actualized one.
